- To share and increase the knowledge of this Heritage in the conviviality of a Medieval village that numbers today nearly 10 000 inhabitants
- To give a boost to the local economy through tourism
- To inform permanently the local population about everything carried out in and around the city.

The different topics that must be developed are :
- Historical Heritage
- Architectural Heritage
- Living Heritage
- Religious Heritage
- Natural and Geological Heritage
- Cultural Heritage

In order to keep our Heritage « alive » the Department for Cultural Actions has led actions within the project « Heritage and Old Crafts » that aims at rehabilitating different Heritage places and know-how in Biot.
2008 has been the year when the city’s oven reopened and 2009 the year emphasizing on this privileged relation that 21st century village inhabitants wish to conserve with old stones and with several centuries-old customs. People have also felt a contemporary and absolutely human pleasure in gathering, meeting and plunging their hands in the flour during the training sessions with our Baker (“Fournier”), Christian Vinciguerra.

After this successful experience, the second stage in the « Heritage and Old Crafts » project will be the reintroduction of jars in the village’s streets launched and achieved before the summer of 2009,

and the creation of a small museum that will enable people to discover tools and know-how of the wine-making professions.

Throughout the year the Heritage Department will lead many other actions, that you will discover in pages with specific reports : the guided tours of the historical centre, the Inventory...
The Heritage Department supports also all of the cultural events in Biot, notably historical events such as the Knight-Templars Festival in the field of its abilities :lectures, tours, exhibitions, studies and researches about some specific aspects of the Heritage.
