Attention glass artists from France and beyond! The City of Biot (Alpes-Maritimes - France) is officially launching the call for applications for the 5th edition of the Biot International Glass Festival, a major event dedicated to contemporary glass creation. On this occasion, the historic glassmaking city will welcome artists, professionals, enthusiasts, and the simply curious to celebrate excellence, innovation, and the diversity of glassmaking practices from around the world.

Since its creation, the Biot International Glass Festival has established itself as an unmissable event for the international glass community. The festival showcases every approach, technique, and aesthetic: blown, sculpted, cast, lampworked, fused, experimental glass… A space where traditional know‑how, contemporary practices, and bold artistic research come together.

For the 5th edition, whose guests of honour will be international creators Juliette Leperlier and Tobias Møhl, the City is launching a call for applications for two events: the international exhibition "Glass is Biotiful V" and the fashion show and exhibition "Glass Fashion Show".

International Exhibition “Glass is Biotiful V”

From 1st August to 25th October 2026 – Espace Hedberg Torun 

This major exhibition will bring together glass artists from around the world. The guests of honour, Juliette Leperlier and Tobias Møhl—both internationally renowned figures in contemporary glass art—will present new, previously unseen works.

Taking part in "Glass is Biotiful" is a unique opportunity to showcase one’s practice, artistic approach, and aesthetic and material research; to meet the international glass community; and to contribute to a major event in the world of contemporary glass creation, across all approaches, disciplines, and techniques.

To apply :

   • Each artist wishing to participate must complete the application form (available below) and submit up to five works.

 • The selection of participants will then be carried out anonymously by a jury of professionals.

• For the selected artists, the reception of the works will take place between 15th and 30th June 2026, and deinstallation from 26th October to 16th November 2026.

   • Participation is free

Fashion Show and Exhibition "Glass Fashion Show"

From 19th September to 25th October 2026

Fashion show on 19th September at the Frédéric Mistral Garden, followed by an exhibition at the Museum of Biot History and Ceramics.

A unique performance where glass comes to life in motion, combining visual and emotional impact. Taking part in this fashion show allows artists to showcase their creativity, reinvent the use of glass, and present their works in a spectacular setting.

• The selection of participants will then be carried out anonymously by a jury of professionals.

• The creations are unrestricted, and the creator must be present during the fashion show.

• Participation is free
